I have seen Dr. Mickelson twice over the last five years. First visit, a quick look up my nose, and he said I had compacted sinuses which likely caused my headaches and lack of taste. I guess I was a bit perplexed and both times really didn’t know how to respond in that I expected him to lead the way. He offered me nothing and I was made to feel that somehow there was nothing to be done. He was distant borderline unprofessional in his entire presentation through both of our visits. He suggested Flonase for my plugged sinuses and sent me on my way. A year later, I had to request another appointment with Dr. Mickelson. It was a mirror image of the first appointment. He had nothing to offer me and I left feeling quite hopeless with my situation. I returned to my family doctor some time later and requested a third ENT appointment but with a different specialist. With a quick ct scan and ordered bloodwork it was confirmed that I needed sinus surgery to clean out all cavities of deeply compacted and infects. Surgery has been completed. A proper consult and proper care has changed my life dramatically. I wish I wouldn’t have lost those few years thinking Dr. Mickelson was the guy to put a little effort into helping me.

i attended with my friend to help her with her appt and Dr. Mickelson was so very kind to my elderly friend. He took time and attention to diagnose and come up with a solution. He was also juggling calls from the Emergency room as he was the on call doctor that day. A genuinly kind soul. Wish all doctors were like him.

My family doctor sent me to Dr. Mickelson after several tests to review my nose and throat. He did surgery to remove some lymph nodes that were suspect. He was the one to relay to me that the pathology had come back as cancerous. You could tell that he was genuinely sorry to have to deliver that kind of news to a patient. He has the best "bed-side" manner of any doctor I have seen. A genuine, caring individual who always took the time to explain things when I asked for more clinical details that the average patient might ask. Also, he did a great job blending the surgery scar into my neck wrinkles :)

Really good doc. Manners very nice surgery procedure very well done. Very impressed. Need more doctors like this. Very well at what he does.

dr mickleson did my surgery for my deviated septum and turbine reduction, i was extremely scared for surgery and anxious. The entire team that did my surgery at jim pattison was amazing. I wish i could give all of the staff a huge hug. The anesthesiologist made me feel so comfortable and relaxed, and the nurses checking me in were so unbelievably caring and kind. I had the best experience even with the pain i was in they were all so amazing. Dr mickleson is the most caring doctor i have ever had and i’ve only seen him 3 times before my surgery. I’m still in recovery but i’m so excited to finally be able to breathe out of my nose again and i am so thankful that Dr mickleson took my concerns and breathing issues seriously. He is by far the best ENT imaginable in my opinion, thank you dr mickleson!!! :)

Referred by my family doctor for ENT issues. First appointment with Mickey was by telephone. He prescribed ear drops, over the phone, for an ear infection which I did not have. At my first office appointment, he inspected my ears and commented that my ear infection had cleared up. I told him that I never had an ear infection. Also at that first appointment, I complained about popping in my ears & continuous fluid at the back of my throat, which I was unable to clear and made it difficult to sleep. He told me to drink more water & increase the humidity at home. At the next appointment, he again said that he was pleased that my ear infection had cleared up. I told him again that I never had an ear infection! I told him that drinking more water & increasing the humidity did nothing for being able to clear my throat. I told him what did ease the condition was not eating any dairy after dinner and brushing my teeth at least 2 hours before bedtime. He pulled out his nose probe and forced it into my nose so hard that my left hand and left foot shook. He noticed the shaking and said, "shaking your hand & foot won't do anything". He pushed harder and I pushed his hand away. He chuckled and said, " at least you won't need any surgery". I walked out! I am now being treated for CSF (Cerebral Spinal Fluid Leak). Mickey Mouse!

He is the best I believe in my opinion in his field. I would trust him with my life and I have. He is very personable and pleasant and I am very grateful to have him as my ENT!

Arguably the best ENT, very professional but does not compromise patient comfort and is alqays very informative. I had two surgery with him and both times he came to check up on me more than once. Personally would not recommend another ent.
